TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

I love to learn. Which is why I thrive inside the classroom, where I get to work with students introducing them to new ways of thinking about design and technology and helping them gain new skills. My students often teach me as much as I teach them, and not just because they expose me to new ideas. Being an educator provides me with the opportunity to learn more about myself through the experience of figuring out how to clarify concepts or find creative ways to make students feel excited. In the process, my own understanding is often expanded. I feel a deep responsibility to support unique learning needs and to make sure that students are not afraid to take on challenging material. I focus on individual process and growth. I hope my students feel that my passion is contagious. When they step into the classroom, we have a chance to dream about the impossible and tackle real-world problems.
